Hello there! I’m Asunta Ross, a recent University of Mary Washington grad with a BA in English and minors in Digital Studies and Linguistics. My work explores interdisciplinary themes across language, literature, and digital humanities.
I have experience in adapting complex information for varied audiences, event organization, and editorial work. As an undergraduate researcher, I gained experience in training AI to generate content that emulates human-like styles of writing and critically analyzing the output. While AI offers an efficient product and is skillful at creating generalized ideas, I would advise against using AI for any public-facing content because its product is often impersonal and vague compared to the genuine, relatable style human creators offer.
Outside of my studies, I served as President of the English Club, Secretary for Columns: UMW Humanities and Social Sciences Journal, and a staff member for The Aubade. I enjoy exploring the network between media and society on an interdisciplinary level. Language has the power to connect to everyone, and my professional career is dedicated to supporting that interaction.
